beta change ticket times separately from datetimes

Hi,

Yesterday I showed the beta version of Event Espresso (4.11.0.beta.001) to the event administrator. As it’s on an installation I created last year, all events had expired. I edited an event and changed the dates. She worked out before I did to click the Calendar icon, which is good.

But she was surprised that I then had to change the tickets as well, as she said that happens automatically on the live site.

Is the difference intentional?

Best wishes,

Anita

Hi Anita,

As far as I am aware we don’t have any code to automatically update ticket Sale Start/End dates based on the DateTime dates/times.

For example here is an expired event:
https://monosnap.com/file/PgikhyvSI3VXuki16CwC4RCYUEkmEM

If I update the Event Start date to be April 1st:
https://monosnap.com/file/KPiOUEk10SD7ACcA4zVFtxe9R2GMZe

The event end date will adjust to try and match the duration which was set before but as you can see above the ticket Sale Starts/Until dates do not change. That was an intentional decision we made a while back as it allows admins to expire tickets at will without us then automagically re-enabling them when you made an update on the event.

So as far as I’m aware, this hasn’t changed between the release version and the beta, but if I’m misunderstanding please do let me know.

Thanks Tony,

I’ve been away but will check with her.

Do you have a release date for the beta version yet?
