Before I buy EE, I want to know…

After trying any ticketing-extension in Joomla, I think I’d move to WordPress and built it with EE.
I might overlook it, but I don’t think I can see anywhere a backend demo to see how EE really works…
I have a theatershow for two weekends I want to sell tickets for. As the seats are numbered, I think I need the Seat Charts plugin as well. Although I would love to have a feature that assigns seats automatically and fills up the venue from row 1 until it’s full (even better: a genius system that takes care that no empty seats are left open. So if there are 3 seats open on a row, it doesn’t sell the tickets to someone who needs 2 tickets). I don’t know if this is possible in EE? If not, it’s ok users can select their own places.
Is it possible that rows are added afterwards? When a venue is sold out, we might put a row extra on the parterre or built our tribune a bit larger… I don’t want to put in these seats yet, just when it’s needed.
I think tickets are delivered by email. Is there a template I can adapt? I prefer to put a unique barcode on the ticket in stead of a QR (as in the plugin ticketing). We have barcode scanners and I think this goes a lot faster than scanning a QR. It might be awesome if I could integrate a barcode myself…
Can I reserve and assign tickets myself? For some shows I would like to reserve seats for sponsors, VIP’s. Can this be done in the backend? Can I send them these tickets before I start selling the tickets through the ticketing front-end?
Last question: I’d like to integrate Icepay with EE. They say it integrates perfect with EE (http://pronamic.nl/icepay-voor-wordpress/). Are transactions in EE done by woocommerce? Or another WordPress-plugin that’s compatible with Icepay (http://www.icepay.com/webshop-modules)?

Hi Maarten,

IcePay is not currently available for Event Espresso. Event Espresso does not process payments through WooCommerce but processes payments through its own payment gateways:

https://eventespresso.com/features/payment-options/#tabEE3Gateways

Tickets are available for download after registration. The attendee/registrant also receives a copy through an email notification. These tickets can also be customized:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-create-a-custom-ticket/

There is an add attendee feature in the WordPress admin. You can use it as soon as you create and publish an event.

We have test sites available for Event Espresso 3 and Event Espresso 4:

Ok, I’m trying a demo-account now.
As the seating chart is not available in the test account, I still have a few questions: is it possible to add seats after the event is published (add extra rows/seats)? I see I can ‘block’ seats in the standard EE, can I block seats in the seating chart?
Concerning the payment methods: I took a look at the Mijirah website. If I would use the standard payment options in Belgium, I have to use an ‘Ogone’ account, that would cost me over €1500 extra (+ costs for Mijirah)… With Icepay all the costs will be included… Is there a way to implement this payment option through their API?

Hi,

Firstly, please be aware that the Seating Chart is currently only available for EE3.

Yes it is possible to add seats to a Seating Chart plan after the event has been started.

Mijereh is for EE4 only. (We are going through a transitional phase while we get EE4 up to speed so some features services are only available on EE3 or EE4, rather than both.)

It is possible to implement a custom gateway, you would need the appropriate development skills or a developer to achieve it. We do offer a custom gateway service as well – https://eventespresso.com/rich-features/multiple-payment-options/custom-payment-gateway-development/
