barcode scanning not working on iPad – but works everywhere else

I have tested barcode scanning with a bluetooth scanner (Zebra DS6867 2D) and it works flawlessly when paired with a PC, an Android device and with my iPhone 6, but only seems to work about 5% of the time when scanning barcodes using an iPad. Same event, same valid ticket (in fact the same printed ticket) and when comparing incoming codes, the inputs are identical across all three platforms so it is not a scanning error. This is baffling. I get a “Registration not valid” or something to that effect about 95% of the time, but then it will suddenly find the record. I am using EE4 and can provide further info as required. We really need this to work as we have two iPads intended for this application. I see there are other reports in the forum similar to this, but none are open for further comment and none are resolved. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

May I ask which models of the iPad and their version of iOS are you using currently?
