Dear Support Team,

Could you please let me know what barcode format type do you use for the tickets on EE?

We are about to print out the attendees ID cards and we will be using your barcode on those ID, it would be very helpful for our printer guy to know this info

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

The type of barcodes on the tickets are actually something you can select, so which type is being used depends on how you have your message templates set up. Here’s what the documentation says, which includes a list of the different types:

type:Used to set the barcode type (default is code93). [BARCODE_* type=code93]. There are 4 different types you can choose from:
code39
code93
code128
datamatrix

You can find out which barcode type you’re using by going in to edit the ticket template and check where the barcode shortcode is.

Thank you josh,

The printer guy has managed to make it work based on the default code, although coded for code39 type, now my question to you is, I have a scanner and I have tried to scan the barcode printed directly from event espresso ticket although the scanner doesnt make any noise of “confirmation” and the code is now showing on the EE barcode area, I have tried via the admin section and by putting the barcode shortcode on a front page but still doesn’t seems to work.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I have the latest windows 10 updates installed, could it be that the scanner and the website don’t interact?

regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

Is that happening from scanning a ticket that’s printed on paper or on the screen. Most barcode scanners can scan off paper, unless they’re the special type that can also scan off screens.

Hi Josh,

printed on paper, the funny thing is that the scanner I have is able to scan the code that my printer guy have “fixed” where the same scanner does not make any confirmation noise at all when scanning the paper ticket that I have printed off EE

You might try using the output code code39 in the Event Espresso ticket template type, those may work better with your scanner.
