I installed latest beta 4.5 on my server. Im impressed however I thought I could run the barcode with latest beta. Apparently I couldn’t find a way to enable the add-on. Help me out with this.

Happy thanksgiving!

Hi,

Start of by going to Messages > Settings tab
Click the HTML icon near the top
If the Ticket type is not already in the HTML Settings box, drag it there from the Inactive message box on the right (screen shot http://take.ms/87KuM)

Back in the Default Message Templates tab you can then edit the ticket as needed (it will likely be on the second page of the list).

To scan the tickets, you will need to install and activate the EE Barcode Scanner addon as well. This will bring up a new menu from where you can test out the scanner.

Hope that helps!

Where do I activate the EE Barcode scanner addon? Check the screenshot on my end… https://www.evernote.com/shard/s18/sh/d3667d8e-1ccd-4912-9da3-a62ad700bacf/247c8b9c307d7a327b2200b0a898bf59

Hi Jed,

The Barcode scanner is itself another Add-on and installs as another plugin.

Once you have installed and activated the barcode add-on you will find the Barcode settings within the main Event Espresso menu – http://take.ms/oGwZv

Hi Jed,

The EE4 Ticketing & Barcode Add-ons are available within the Pre-release channel for any users that have access to the EE3 Ticketing Add-on. The EE4 developer license does not include access to the EE3 Add-on’s, so as your license does not have access to EE3 Ticketing, those 2 add-on’s are not currently available with your Pre-release account.

However, whilst they are on the Pre-release channel I have added those add-on’s to your account for testing. To note, this will not grant access to EE4 Ticketing and Barcode Scanning once they are released, they would need to be purchased separately to be added to your account.

You should now see those Add-on’s with the PR channel.

I am using Socket Mobile 7 series. You mentioned most of barcode scanners would be working with the plugins. Can you confirm which one been tested?

We haven’t tested many barcode scanners, because they mostly function all the same by transferring scanned barcodes to the active application running on your computer (a text field in this case) as though they were typed directly from a keypad.

Very sorry! We don’t have documentation for the ticketing at this time. I can give you some tips on how to use it though.

The barcodes can’t be displayed in the email, they can only be displayed in the actual tickets, which can be viewed/downloaded using a link in the “Registration Approved” message type.

To get the link in the email, you will need to create a link to the tickets using the [RECIPIENT_TICKET_URL] shortcode in the “Main Content” section (screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/CjvAcVqc). Something like this: <a href="[RECIPIENT_TICKET_URL]">Download</a>

You can also create a ticket link in the “Attendee List” section using the [TICKET_URL] shortcode.

I hope that helps. Hopefully we will have documentation before this add-on is released ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, there is help regarding shortcodes in the help tab dropdown within the messages admin.
