Automatic udates not working

I am using wordpress 3.51, event espresso version 3.1.30.7P. This is a new installation that has been customized.

I entered my support code into the plugin, but I it still does not auto update and with the auto update, will any custom css and coding that I may have added to event espresso disappeat?

I’ve reset your license key to try and remove the error and allow upgrades.
