Attendees not showing in overview

Hi, We’ve had something weird happen. A woman using Internet Explorer (don’t know the version) tried to register for an event, but the event did not show up for her on the calendar page. She ended up calling us and we tried to go to the Event Registration page but she was unable to complete a transaction (got no paypal link). We ended up taking her payment over the phone and manually adding her to the event. That’s problem number one.

Second, this event shows 0/16 attendees in the Event Overview. However, we did manually register her and another person and when we click the “0/16” link in the overview to view the ateendee report, we see, yes, two people are registered.

Question one: could the first problem be due to an old version of Internet Explorer?

Question two: why the discrepancy between the number of attendees in the overview and the attendee report?

Hi, its possible that a very old version of Internet Explorer could cause registration issues. Was she able to try in an alternative web browser?

Are you using a caching plugin? Try a force refresh on the event overview page:

Hi Lorenzo,

No she didn’t try a different browser. I didn’t get the browser version but it may be old. And no, I’m not using a caching plugin. Like I said, this is the first and only time this has come up. I can see all the events fine in the calendar page.

Sorry, I forgot… what about the discrepancy between the 0/16 attendees in the event overview and the fact that two people are actually registered?

If you add an additional attendee, does the counter still remain on 0?

We haven’t added any since noting this weirdness. However we added 2 attendees manually and neither shows up.

Note: I created a new event (a waitlist so it wouldn’t show up in the calendar) and went through the registration process (with Paypal in test mode). My attendee was successfully added. It shows 1/1 attendees in the overview and attendee and admin confirmation emails were successfully sent and received.

I don’t know if there’s a problem with the one event where this is happening. I’ve looked it over and don’t see anything set any differently from all the other events.

I’m inclined to think that there’s something wrong with the one event and that it’s just an aberration. We’re going to keep an eye on things.
