An error occurred during processing. Please try again. (Reason Code: 20)

Hey EE4 Team,

An error occurred during processing. Please try again. (Reason Code: 20)

So my client is getting the error above. In Authorize.net, it’s showing as “Communication Error”. As far as I know from what I’ve researched: EE4 is just sending the payment data off to Authorize.net and waiting for a response back. If successful, the event is paid for — if fail, the event is left as pending.

Here is the error code:

Is it safe for me to assume this error is in fact a returned result from Authorize.net?

Hi there,

You have ‘Reason code: 20’ in your title, but then above the error code is E00001, do you get them both?

Reason code 20 would be:

https://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/responseCodes.html?code=20

With Auth.net payment method are you using?

Is it safe for me to assume this error is in fact a returned result from Authorize.net?

It would appear so yes, if you view the transaction for this registration, you’ll see a payment for auth.net within that, if it has anything in the ‘Gateway response’ field, that’s directly from the provider (in this case Auth.net).

The network for auth.net went down as we found out. Thank you. Resolved.
