Affiliate tracking with Infusionsoft setup

We are unable to get the Infusionsoft affiliate tracking setup to work via Event Espresso. I am unfortunately going to need to dump Event Espresso as part of our solution if I can’t get this working soon.

Our affiliate tracking works fine when it’s just through Infusionsoft, but doesn’t work when we try to go through Event Espresso. Therefore, we know it is something with our setup between EE and IS.

We have read and tried to follow all of the documentation on these forums, and have worked with a couple of contract developers that haven’t been able to get it to working for us either. My problem is, the documentation isn’t detailed enough to know exactly what to do. For example, it says to use the “modified redirect link method” and gives some examples of the URL, but doesn’t describe how to do that. Infusionsoft’s documentation is equally as high-level, showing us how to created html code and then saying to “upload the file to your server” without going into detail on exactly what wordpress folder we should be placing this file in and any other server-side setup required.

This has to be a lot simpler than we’re making it. we’re looking to work with someone to help us get this set up quickly and show us how to do it. If this is something that would be supported by the Event Espresso team with a Support Token, we’re happy to purchase one of those. Or we’d be happy to create a small contract on elance or o-desk for someone to help us get this done quickly.

Thanks for any assistance with this.

Most of this is handled by Infusionsoft. Event Espresso just checks for certain “referral” variables that are passed from the Infusionsoft referral redirect URL or the custom redirect URL on your server.

The code on this Infusionsoft page needs to be copied into a file on YOUR server, into the primary domain name’s root directory, such as /public_html or /httpdocs directory. For example: http://YOURWEBSITE.com/referral.html, where “referral.html” is the name of the file.

I hope that makes sense.

Hi Seth,

Yes, I’ve followed that Infusionsoft page exactly. I believe we tried placing it in the root directory, but I will check to make sure.

I feel comfortable we have the infusionsoft side set up correctly (per that page you referenced). But there’s something with the server side setup that we don’t have right yet. This is because the tracking works correctly with Infusionsoft only, but when we make the changes as outlined on that page, the tracking cookies aren’t getting generated. so something’s not right. I’ve read about an SDK needing to be installed and configured, so maybe that’s our issue.

Again, probably a real quick setup job for someone that’s done it before. If it’s not something Event Espresso would support with a paid Support Token, then I’ll look to create a project on O-desk to find a contractor.
