Add additional attendee questions & answers to the registration overview section

Hi,
I am selling course registrations. For each course registration, there are different days and times that people can register to which also includes multi registration for each course day/time. I have created a required question for additional attendees so when they register for the course for more than one person, I receive the names for all the registered attendees. Currently only the primary name displays in the registration overview section in the Event Espresso plugin. Is there a way to have the additional attendee names display instead (which is created from the questions) so we know who is registered for the course instead?

Example: if a business has registered for three of their employees how do I show the name of each attendee in the registration overview instead of the primary contact’s name which is actually the business name?

Thanks for your help

Hi Chris, if you collect the personal information group which includes a name and an email from the additional registrants, then their information will appear in the registrations overview screen.

It looks like this in the event editor:

Otherwise, only the primary registrant information will be shown even if the primary registrant registers for multiple ticket options.

Thanks Lorenzo,
Will it work if I created a different group with only their name? I did this and selected it but it doesn’t show up. I don’t see anywhere in the question groups regarding the ‘personal information’ for additional attendees.
Thanks for your help

Hi Chris,

Only system question answers such as the name of the primary registrant is is shown in the registrations overview screen and this is because they are part of the contact record.

For example, the personal question group and the address question group are not custom questions. Answers for those are stored on the attendee/registrant record. If you are viewing a specific registration, then you’ll see this in the top right area of the screen rather than in the middle area where the custom questions and answers are shown.

Creating a custom question group would not solve the issue as that would not appear in the registrations overview screen.

You mentioned that you are not seeing a personal question group. If you go to the event editor, do you see similar questions groups in the bottom right area like this?

Ignore custom questions, 678, and 89. Those are custom question groups on my testing site for testing purposes.

I believe I changed the title/name of the ‘additional attendee’ personal information to Business Information because I need to receive:
– business information (name, address, phone number)
– contact for the payment (name, email)
– attendee first and last names

I would like all the attendee first and last names to be visible in the registration section, is that possible? Not sure if I set this up correctly. Anyway I could privately send you the user info to log in and take a look?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated

Hi Chris,

You’ll see all registrant information if you collect the personal question group from the primary registrant and additional registrants.

This is because this question group contains the first name, last name, and email which are system questions.

Those selections look like this in the event editor:

http://cl.ly/423T24231D3z

If you are using custom questions to collect that information, then it won’t appear in the registrations overview table as the contact information that is there comes from the system questions.

Could you reply with a screenshot of your question groups in the event editor similar to the image that I shared above?

Here is how to share a screenshot with us:

Hey Lorenzo,

Thanks for the suggestions.

What we are trying to achieve is: To have the additional attendees names listed in the registration screen. Here’s a link to the screen I’m talking about:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/do6r00i4y3wleqk/screen.jpg?dl=0

Once the user registers themselves and along with some additional members, we want the additional members name show up in the registration screen. Right now, when they register this way, The name of the person is repeated multiple times to the number of additional members registered.

Please let me know if I’m clear about this issue. Will look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

With your current you are requesting information only for the primary registrant and have attached custom questions for the additional registrants. This means that as far as EE is concerned you only have 1 registrants details (FName, LName and email system question within the Personal Information question group)

So when you select 4 tickets EE requests the personal information for the primary registrant. It doesn’t know what those question questions you have added are for and so won’t use them within the additional registrations.

To fix this you need to select at least the Personal Information question group for your additional registrants – http://take.ms/1CBvc

(You need to check the checkbox next to Personal Information within the additional registrants meta box)

Then when you select 4 tickets EE will request the personal information for each of those 4 registrants and use those details for each individual registration.
