Activating calendar add-on throws EE into maintenance mode

Hi – we are running EE with Storefront theme and a number of EE add-ons. We would like to add the calendar view, so today we installed the calendar add-on. When simply activating the calendar (prior to inserting a shortcode), our home page loses content and instead is replaced with an EE maintenance message: “Event registration has been temporarily closed while system maintenance is being performed. We’re sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. Please try back again later.” It’s weird as the homepage has a full width slider and blog posts etc and only one section further down that lists events, but everything goes in place of the EE maintenance message. Any thoughts? Everything is up to date – EE 4.10.13p and calendar add-on 3.2.15p, latest WP and latest Woo Storefront theme. Thanks.

Hi there,

Did you migrate the site from EE3?

Maintenance mode means you have data in your database that EE needs to change to suit the latest schema, it will do this for you.

Activate the calendar add on and in the admin go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance.

What do you see there?

It should show a migration option for (in this case) the calendar data, run through that migration and EE should come out of maintenance mode.
