Access to Event Espresso missing

Hi,

I am currently working on an Event Espresso powered event website, during the setup at some stage, the Event Espresso menu tab in the dashboard has disappeared, I can access the settings via the plugin screen, but when I click Event it says “You do not have access to this route.”
I suspect there is a permissions issue that has arisen (I was trying to manipulate user roles to hide another plugin – Visual Composer – from appearing in the menu to subscribers) by using a User Roles plugin, which may have triggered this, can you help resolve this?

Thanks

Tony

Hi Jonathan,

Are you using an admin account currently?

Can you view the Event Espresso -> Maintenance menu?

That’s available using /wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings at the end of your domain.

If so click the Reset/Delete Data Tab and then use the ‘Reset Event Espresso Capabilities’ – http://take.ms/GNFdd

(Note the other functions there will reset EE and remove your data, so double check which button you are clicking)

Can you then access Events?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply, I’ve tried using the url appended with the link you mentioned in your post but I receive the same “You do not have access to this route.” message, this is using an Admin account yes, any other suggestions welcome.

Cheers

As your an admin you should have all capabilities that begin with ee_ assigned to your account.

Using User Roles can you check your account has all of those capabilities assigned?

Hi Tony,

Yes definitely an Admin, I also tried creating a new role that explicitly has access to all capabilities (called Super Admin) which still does not show the Event Espresso menu option or allow access to it beyond the settings page.

Cheers

Hi Jonathan,

I was able to log in to your site with the credentials that you sent with the support token form and was able to reset the capabilities. Can you verify that everything is working from your end now?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the assistance, yes it appears to be functioning as normal again, can you let me know how you achieved this in case this occurs again another time?

Thanks again!

In case this occurs again, you copy the following URL to your browser (modify yoursite.com to match your actual domain) :
yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings
then you click the Reset/Delete Data Tab, then click the button that says Reset Event Espresso Capabilities
