After recent updates, our calendar is no longer displaying our events.

Hi,
I checked your site and what’s happening is there’s a 504 gateway error when the Calendar tries to get the events:

I get the same error if I try to go to:
https://paintncreate.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Since a 504 gateway error is a server error you could reach out to your host to see if they can investigate why admin-ajax.php is returning an error.

WP Engine wasn’t showing any 504 errors on my site. Any idea on how to fix that or what the issue may be?

It’s not in any of the error logs and they didn’t see anything on their backend.

Regardless of what they do not see in their logs, you shouldn’t get a 504 error when sending a request to admin-ajax.php.
One thing you could do to help troubleshoot would be to temporarily deactivate other plugins to see if they’re having any effect on requests admin-ajax.php. If I remember correctly some security plugins may have an option to restrict requests to that route, but under most circumstances that option will need to be disabled (and will often be labeled as such).
