In my Transactions Overview..
Have 2 transactions that have the word “free” in the Amount Total shown.
With…
Ticket Price is $2500.
Transaction Total is $0
Amount Paid is shown as 0.
Transaction Status: Complete
Last Method of Payment: Unknown

Why did this happen?
What should I do to fix this?
And what can I do toprevent this from happening again?
Thanks for your help!

These 2 transactions did not go through our merchant account at Paypal and payment was not received. So why did this happen in the transaction report?

Hi Jeffrey,

When you click through from the transactions overview screen and view the transaction details screen, do you see an entry there for the ticket or is that missing (nothing shown)?

Also, what version of Event Espresso 4 are you currently using?

Version is Event Espresso 4.7.1.p

Yes. I do see the transaction details. This Registrant was never able to actually purchase this $2500 ticket. Don’t know why he had difficulty. He did attempt this purchase over 12 times, to no avail. Other transactions did not have the word “FREE” in the transaction report. Just 2 transactions had FREE.

Hi there Jeffrey, we are now up to version 4.8.8. Could you backup your site and upgrade to the latest release?

You can view the changelog for your version here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/#4.7.1

Then scroll upwards to see changes since your version.

I backed up the site and upgraded the EE4 software on my site. Should the upgrade fix this issue? What should I look for? Should this error be corrected by the upgrade?

Hi,

Can you tell me what the Registration Status is for the registration assigned to that transaction please?

Don’t know why he had difficulty. He did attempt this purchase over 12 times, to no avail.

Did it show any error messages?

Can you see the 12 attempts within the transactions?

The 2 transactions are still showing up as I noted above with the COMPLETE for transaction and FREE for the ticket amount. The other 10 attempts that he made out of the 12 tries, do not have the COMPLETE or FREE wording. So, No. These 2 errors have not been fixed by the upgrade.

The 2 transactions are still showing up as I noted above with the COMPLETE for transaction and FREE for the ticket amount.

That’s the transaction status, not Registration status.

At the bottom of the transaction you’ll find a list of registrations assigned to it – http://take.ms/OpuE9

If you click the name for one of those registrations you’ll be taken to that registration, what status does that have?

The other 10 attempts that he made out of the 12 tries, do not have the COMPLETE or FREE wording.

Can up upload a screenshot of what yo can see please?

So, No. These 2 errors have not been fixed by the upgrade.

The transaction is saved to the database, so updating EE will not fix those details but we need to try and narrow down how this has happened and what has happened with both the registration and its transaction.

Note the 2 transactions marked as FREE, #601 and #604, for Jonathan Knox.
