Does this support paid membership registrations as well(paid WordPress user registration)?
We are planning to develop a new WordPress site and to purchase Event Espresso to manage Events. It should allow people to pay for the member registrations and when they register for events, some events will be free and some will not.

Please let me know if WP User Integration supports this kind of a functionality.

Thank you.

Hi,

No it doesn’t. The WP User Integration is not a replacement for a membership system, whether that system is the default WordPress one or a third party system such as S2Member.

WP User Integration does a few things. It allows logged in members to access member only events or member prices for events, it allows logged in users to have some of their profile data (name, email, address) automatically filled in on the front end. It also allows the logged in user to view their events and even cancel them from the profile or via a front end shortcode.

It does not deal with the actual registration process (for this site).

Hi Dean,

Thank you very much for the explanation.

We do have a module that works with S2 member (http://wordpress.org/plugins/s2member/) and our WP user integration add-on so that you can use the S2 levels to have a free registration (level 1) and a paid membership (level 2) and set the discounted, or free, ticket price to be available to the paid members, but not to the non-paid members.

Hi Sydney,
Thank you for your reply. I’m now looking at the S2 member plugin as well. If I purchase an Event Espresso Business licence and the S2 member plugin, will I be able to handle what you have mentioned without purchasing any other plugin?

The free version of the S2 member plugin available on wordpress.org should meet your needs. It has 4 member levels and a paypal module to accept payment for membership levels. I believe the paid version adds more levels and more payment options.
Our S2 module is available in the Pre-Release channel, free with your site membership, which comes with the buisness license as well as our WP User Integration. (You will need to use the version of the WP User Integration in the pre-release channel, 1.9.8, to have it work with our S2 module)

Hi Sidney.

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate your fast support and I’m very pleased with that.

I have a concern about the payment options. Our client is planning to have a different payment gateway(Bendigo Bank payment gateway) which is not listed in your available payment options or S2 member payment options. They are not interested in Paypal at this stage. (I’m aware about your custom payment gateway integration service but it is expensive). Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

Hi,

Regarding the non supported gateway, the only option would be to create a custom gateway, either via us, yourself or a thirdparty developer (here is our recommended developer list – https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/).

We do have some basic documentation should you wish to attempt a custom gateway yourself https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-gateway-integration/ and we recommend studying the existing gateways as a basis for your own creation.

Please note that support can not assist with creating custom gateways.
