HI
our payments are mostly electronic funds transfer that our administrator marks off manually for each registrant/payment. The loading time is incredidibly slow, nearly a minute needed to mark off each payment.Help please … How can we speed up this process?
Our non profit org Committee needs convincing that Credit card charges are worthwhile.

Hi there,

When applying a payment in Event Espresso there are 2 steps that can take time:

1. Adding the payment to the database and updating the transaction status along with the registration status for the regs attached to it

2. Sending the emails associated with the action.

The last reports we had of long wait times to add a payment was a result of the reserver waiting for the emails to send, so are you selecting to send the Payment/Registration emails when applying a payment? If so if you test adding a payment without triggering the emails, do it go through quicker?

Hello Tony
thank you for help.
I have passed message onto admin to try on her computer which seems slower than mine.
I have noticed the bulk “approve and notify ‘ option available in the drop down ain the footer of resistrations. Would this be the speedier choice, and still send a receipt of payment, or would she have to wait until all were processed before leaving the page.
We now have php 7
and are preparing for stripe
thank you
hazel

Hi Hazel,

I have noticed the bulk “approve and notify ‘ option available in the drop down ain the footer of registrations. Would this be the speedier choice, and still send a receipt of payment, or would she have to wait until all were processed before leaving the page.

That doesn’t apply a payment to the transaction, it just approves the registration so they wouldn’t get a payment received email, just the ‘Registration Approved’ message and yes the admin would need to wait for the page to load.

So it depends on what ‘receipt of payment’ you are referring to if that will work for you but even then EE will show the transactions as incomplete if you use that option.

We now have php 7

Great, you should notice a relatively significant speed boost when moving to PHP7.
