We are having intermittent registration errors. The first error is an invalid email address error (see screenshot) we have tried multiple different email accounts with the same result. The second issue seems to be the first name field box is intermittently missing. WordPress Version: |

Hi, were you recently using any caching plugins or services? Or are you using a web host that offers a built-in caching service? Next, was Event Espresso 4 installed through the WP dashboard (WP-admin) or manually installed via SFTP or FTP? — |

Lorenzo, I am sorry, but I don’t know what caching plugins or services are? our web host is Siteground if that is helpful. Thanks! Jessi |

Hi Lorenzo, Here are the answers to your questions Jessi |
Hi, please setup no-cache rules for Event Espresso: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ You may need to ask your web host to do this (via a support ticket) if it is part of the web hosting plan and not handled via a separate plugin such as WP super cache. — |

Hi Lorenzo, This is the response from our web host. Please confirm this is really the solution that will solve our issues for him before we initiate the fix: Currently caching is not turned on for WordPress via any settings in WordPress. The server has caching turned on and I’ll have to see if we can put in the exclusions they are requesting. They truly feel that caching is causing the problem with the emails? Have you received any new reports of people having issues? |
Hi Jessi, We can’t see your screenshot above, you’ll need to host the image somewhere and post the link here. For example, uploading the images to your site using the Media uploader, then including the link to that image here. Regardless of your email issue, Event Espresso system pages can not be cached. A lot of the data Event Espresso displays and uses is dynamically created. If you cache the pages, that information is no longer dynamic, but static, and that will cause issues with registrations in one way or another. However I did place a couple of registrations on your site and found no issues, is it with sepcific events or email providers? |

Hi, if you are testing on a mobile phone then you likely aren’t logged into the site at that time. Some caching services exclude caching if a user is loggedin. Could you send us an email with the link to that event (same event from the phone) so we can try some additional tests? support [at] eventespresso.com — |

This is the event they were trying to register to |
Hi, I don’t have a device running Android but I did test on some mobile iOS devices and it appears to work (submitting the attendee details): http://cl.ly/image/3o1Q2i2w3316 Are you able to duplicate the issue using your mobile phone? — |

Ok, we’ve heard from folks from Bank of the Cascades, folks who sign up for all of our events that they are receiving registration errors as well. They’ve had issues registering for https://www.edcoinfo.com/events/january-pubtalk/ |
Hi, I removed the email address since this is a public support forum. I do have an idea on what may be occurring. Event Espresso does not have any preferential filters for certain email address or domains. For example, a gmail.com email account should work and so should a hotmail.com and a yahoo.com account and so forth. With that mentioned, Event Espresso was written to work with a current web browser. Could you follow up with one of the registrants to see if they are using an older web browser such as Internet Explorer 7 or 8? If they are, could you ask them to please try on an alternative web browser that is up to date: Also, can you confirm that no-caching rules were setup? Caching on the server-level is above WordPress and could be contributing to the sporadic registration issues. Thanks. — |

|
Lorenzo, Yes, we have disabled caching on the server Jessi |
Thanks Jessi, please do share that information once its available and we’ll continue testing. — |
