I need to offer gift certificates – but EE3 doesn’t allow for that. It would not be a lot or often, so setting things up by hand would not be too big an issue. I think I can make the groupon tool work, but I am not sure about the Voucher Import CSV tool and want to make sure I don’t muck something up.
On the included CSV it has only two columns – code, name. I would like to add more columns: date purchased, etc Will this cause problems?
The other things – what are the parameters for the code? Is there a certain format, length, etc that needs to be followed, or can I set any random string as the code?

Those additional fields will not be saved within the database (as the columns are not within the groupon database) and will cause issues when importing.

There should be no restrictions. However I would advise using roughly 10 characters in length, any more can become tedious when inputting into the event.
How are you planning on using the Groupon Add-on to achieve this?
The plan is to use this to deal with Gift Certificates – I was hoping to use the Voucher Import CSV to track the certificates issued, but apparently I will need to use another spreadsheet for that since I want a bit more information. An extra step – annoying but not critical.
Although the date is one of the fields that you can import into the groupon codes table, I think it will get overwritten with the date it is redeemed by the attendee.
