Had my client purchase EE to use for there education site. They provide multiple classes, at 2 locations, multiple date times a month. I can create a class (Event), create multiple datetimes but need to create a ‘Ticket’ for each and set up when the ticket is for sale (don’t need this). A little more complexity than we need but doable. However I cannot create a date time associated to a location (Venue) so we need to create a duplicate class for each Venue. Is there a better way to mangos classes?
It’s actually best to create a class for each location. Otherwise it can be confusing for everyone involved because there will be some ambiguity about who is going to show up where and when.
Thx for your response. That’s what I’m doing. A bit redundant but manageable for this client — just 2 locations. And each datetime requires its own ticket, correct? So 24 datetimes, 24 tickets.
The answer depends. Is the class something where you’ll attend the one date and that’s it? Or do you sign up for the class once and the class meets several times on different dates? If the class meets more than one time you can follow this guide:
It will be best to break those up into smaller events where you have an event for each single one datetime event. It’s totally possible to set up 24 datetimes within an event, but you’ll find that the site will be slow and the administration and registration can be confusing. The multiple datetime feature isn’t intended to be used where a class meets one time.
