Hello, I have multiple events created in EE4: Registrant I have created 3 Promotion codes, not exclusive, with the same name. However, they each take off a different dollar amount depending on which even they are applied to. For example, they are all named “MYDISCOUNT”. MYDISCOUNT MYDISCOUNT MYDISCOUNT Whenever I try to enter the code on checkout, I get the following error: We are sorry, but the promotion code “4LEAFCLOVER” could not be applied to any Events. You are wlecome to try a different promotion code or to try this one again to ensure it was entered correctly. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help! |
Hi Jeremy, Are they all named “MYDISCOUNT”, or do they all have “MYDISCOUNT” input for the code, or both? |

They are all named “Member Discount” and they all have 4LEAFCLOVER as the discount code. Should I try changing the names to be unique? |
|
I tried changing the names, but keeping the discount code all the same still, 4LEAFCLOVER. Still getting same error. |
Do you have “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” set to Yes or No? If you’re using identical codes like this, it will need to be set to No. |

I do already have “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” set to know. I also have “Promo is exclusive” set to no as well. Any other thoughts? Thanks for your help. |
It may help to set the Promo is exclusive to Yes, and you’ll want to double-check and make sure you have the promo set to be applied for the correct events. For example, if you have more events and they have the same names as others, then that could cause what you’re seeing. |

Well, I deleted all the duplicate coupon codes, and then it worked. But I know how this is going to work for me then. Here is what I am trying to accomplish. I have 3 products. Admission I need to be able to provide 2 prices for each. Member pricing and non-member pricing. In addition, I need to be able to provide early bird pricing for purchases prior to 1/17/16 that also applies to members and non-members. Example below. Admission – $80 (non-members) – $70 (Members) I need similar pricing structure for the other two ticket items as well. Is using a promo code the best way to go about this then? Because the promo code only allows a specific dollar amount or a percentage. A dollar amount doesn’t work because multiple ticket items have varying prices. A percentage amount doesn’t apply the way we need it correctly to multiple items. This is confusing. |
I’d advise that a Promo code isn’t the best way to go about this. They can be used for discounts, but you may find it will work better when you can set up early pricing by setting up tickets with a sale end date of 1/17, and set up the regular price tickets with a sale start date of 1/17. Then, you can also set up member only tickets with special member only prices with the WP User integration add-on. Members will need to be able to log in to your site to get the member prices, and there are a number of WordPress membership plugins that can be used to manage memberships. |

Thanks for the help! I’ll explore that option. |
