Hi,
I will purchase a support token if need be to get this fixed. EE3 is no longer showing todays events, only the events for tomorrow and further. We are using the event custom view shortcode.

Thank you

Additionally, there seems to be a second instance of December 2019 at the top of the list now and one at the bottom as well:

It is showing the events as being submitted tomorrow (Saturday), though, tonight is Friday night.

Sorry for the million comments in the thread, just trying to help with as much info as possible. In the database, all times look to be correct:

Based on the current time, I can’t test to see if it’s just not showing the day or if somehow universal time is being used, but I will stay up and test that at midnight.

Thanks again for any help. Obviously these things wait for Friday night during the holiday season 🙂

Hi Jason,

We’ve received your request for priority support. I’m sorry for the delay in the reply, we do not normally go to work on weekends, but I happened to check in for a bit today.

I’m not sure at all which page on your site where you’re displaying “today’s” events. Can you explain a bit further? For example which page on your site is set up to show only today’s events, and how is that you have it set to only show today’s events? Is that via some custom code somewhere?

Hey Josh,

No worries at all about the delay. We don’t have a page set to only show today’s events. We have a page that shows all of our upcoming events which should still include today’s events. On 12/20, it was only showing events with the registration closing on 12/21 or later. It should have been showing all of those events as well as the events that closed on 12/20. The workaround we found was to set the event date to the correct date (12/20) and then have the registration set to close on 12/21 and then manually switch the registration date back when we needed it to close.

Somehow today (12/21), no problems at all. It’s working completely normally again with no changes on our part. I did send a response to the priority support email with a few oddities I found that might be able to help (additional databases/military time not working/issues we’ve had in the past with only some members having problems reserving that I believe you helped us work through).

As of now, it’s working, but I’d really like to figure out what was happening and how we can prevent it from happening again in the future. Please let me know if you have anymore questions and I will gladly get them answered.

This is the page that shows all events (under the display now category). You will need to be logged in to see it.

Thanks, this makes sense. So the issue is more than likely related to the WordPress 5.3 update where the time/date comparison in the template plugin can be affected by timezones. I’ve added a fix to your site’s custom template view plugin which will prevent today’s events from dropping off the list too early.

I really appreciate you doing that for us, Josh. Is there something I can do to remove the second instance of this month in the drop down list? Or is that something we should be concerned about?

What that probably is from is there’s at least one event that has a start date with an invalid date format. So for example the valid date format for an event that starts today is 2019-12-23. If the date was instead input like this: 2019-23-12, then that’s an invalid date and would cause that second instance of December 2019 to be added to the dropdown.
