Unable to sign in to mobile app

I cannot seem to work out why the sign in will not work, i have both the apps the HD and non HD on my ios phone.
I have plugin application passwords ver 0.1 on my WP site, I have generated a user under my profile and have its password.
however when i try to login it still get 404 on one app the HD one and the other gives me please update your credentials.
any help is appreciated.

Update,
I managed to signin on the non HD app using my WordPress login , but events are not showing up to scan
what did i miss

I might also add, I am running Ee4, reading some confusing posts that mobile app only works on ee3? is that true? if so how can i scan in on phone? without downgrading?
