We have users pay by check, they choose invoice at checkout. We had issues with our database a month back or so and out host did some “magic” and shrunk our database. We now have no drop down in the apply payment part of registrations and we had previously updated this before. I saw another post that someone disabled and re-enabled the plugins to fix it. I have live events going on don’t want to break anything. Is there any other way for troubleshooting? If i disable the plugin and re-enable it is it going to break anything? If you need to log in and take a look or a screen shot let me know. |

Its possible that the database thing has no relevance on this issue also. |

Hi, It sounds like their method of “shrinking” the database was actually deleting data. The database can be shrunk that way, but at significant cost. If you deactivate the plugin, then reactivate it, it’s not going to break anything. If the missing payment options do not reappear after reactivating the plugin, you can also try going to Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset and click the Reset Event Espresso Capabilities button. |

will that give me the options to reset what i want? There is some customization i did and i don’t want to lose that. |
|
No, it simply adds the EE capabilities back to the administrator role.
Can you be a little more specific on what customizations you made? |
|
Nevermind, there was an update to EE, i did the update and everything came back. Looks like it reset it when the update happened. thanks for your time. |

Some changes in the text on buttons and in the templates. Changes to the templates to add a print button and move a few things around. I cant remember them all thats why i asked. My customer was\is super picky |

That makes sense as EE checks over some of the data and fixes what it can if it finds a problem, it obviously can’t fix everything but it does what it can 🙂 Note as mentioned in my reply to your previous thread, as more data is added to your database you are going to get closer and closer to your hosts 300MB limit once again, remaining on that host/package with the current limitations is asking for more trouble in my honest opinion. |
|
In short if you don’t know what customizations have been made we have no idea if you’ll lose them. Generally if you are updating EE and don’t lose the customizations when you update then it sounds like the customizations have been done using the correct methods and should not be lost, but it really depends on the specific changes made and where/how.

That makes sense for sure. And i did my best to follow the proper ways to do things so since i have updated many times and didn’t lose anything must be ok. We have been warning them and suggested another host, but they are dragging their feet. Thanks for your help and info. |

Yeah, it sounds like you should be fine. As long as you don’t edit core files (any files within the ee plugin directory) you normally won’t lose customizations. Customizations added to a custom functions plugin, or template files saved to your child theme, will not be lost by EE updates/resets. |
