September 16, 2014 at 10:23 am We just upgraded to EE4 and it is sending out triple email confirmations to registrant. Is there a tutorial on this matter? |
September 16, 2014 at 12:14 pm Hi Chuck, Event Espresso 4 sends out a couple notifications by default into a registration pending payment email and a registration approved email (includes registration details). Have you confirmed that it is actually sending out one of these emails multiple times? Are you currently using a transactional email service such as Postmark app or Mandrill? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ If not, please go ahead and set one of those up and re-test. Mandrill has a free tier. — |

OK, thanks for the reply! Is it possible to have EE stop sending the “Event Registration Details” (Here’s a copy of your registration details!)? and . (using GoDaddy email) |
Hi, That can be done but keep in mind that is the email notification that the registrant/attendee receives after a successful registration. If you disable it, then they won’t get any confirmation of their registration. Go to the Messages screen. Then locate the Message Type that you want to edit. Remember that there are multiple recipients — the event admin and the registrant(s). Click on the recipient that you would like to edit. On the next screen, remove the shortcode in the “TO” field and save changes. Also see this: http://cl.ly/image/3F3S263q0W28 I also recommend using a transactional email service such as Mandrill or Postmark: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ The messages editor will accept html but you need to be in text mode instead of visual mode. — |

September 17, 2014 at 10:59 am OK thanks! Who in your opinion (or EE as a group) is the best hosting provider for EE4? |
Hi Chuck, We have some recommended web hosts here: https://eventespresso.com/requirements/ You’ll see the best performance with Event Espresso on a managed WordPress host such as Pagely, Pressable, WP Engine, etc. These hosts have optimized their servers for WordPress. — |

Can’t get the custom emails to deliver both emails that have event name, time, date. I tried building a custom but not sure about which email (on the event page) is the one that will send out the custom………cannot get this to work after the upgrade from EE3. |

Hi, There is a messages overview screen which has message templates for all events and then a custom templates tab: http://cl.ly/image/2T1B1a1w0I3O The message type that you are looking for is the Payment Received message type for the Registrant. Next scroll down to the Datetime List and add these shortcodes: [DATETIME_START] It will look like this: http://cl.ly/image/0c1u211L3y40 Now take the [DATETIME_LIST] shortcode and add to the Event List area and save changes: http://cl.ly/image/2J2i2F2C3Z45 — |

On this buy/test it doubled the Payment received email. |
Hi Chuck, Could you double-check the recipient? This message template shows that you are editing the “event admin,” however the recipient is set to the primary registrant: http://woolworthtours.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/email-screeenshot-2.jpg That would explain why two notifications are going out as there is a recipient for event admin and the registrant: http://cl.ly/image/2T1B1a1w0I3O — |

September 19, 2014 at 10:07 am OK I understand that – but the event/time/date are not showing |
September 19, 2014 at 10:16 am Did you apply these changes to the registrant for payment received? https://eventespresso.com/topic/triple-email-confirmations-ee4/#post-118522 — |
