I also do not understand how an event group works. I basically need to get a new event up and running. |
Hi, We received your request for priority support. Before we can help you get your event up and running, you’ll first need to finish the update to the new version. If you’re logged into the site right now, can you go to the Event Espresso > Maintenance page and click the Continue button? Please let us know when the update is finished and we can review the event. Also, can you provide a few more details about the text you want to find and remove? |

Hi, I looked, and found the source of the text. The developer added a function to the end of the theme’s functions.php file. (It starts on line 223 and ends on line 235). Do you have the information from your web host (in this case WPEngine) for access files to edit them? If so you could pass that information on in the support token form and we can remove the text. |
|
|
I continue to submit this info on the support token form and continue to get an error message. I am running out of time. |
We did get your support token form, I’m not sure why/how you saw an error. The text added to the event pages (by the developer that you couldn’t find) has been removed. 🙂 |

I have all of my events set up. I created a duplicate event to test the process. The registration proceeds okay until I proceed to payment options — then I get the error message “The following errors have occurred. (14) The referrer, relay response or receipt link URL is invalid.” I am not in debug mode (I set my duplicate event ticket price to $1). Since the original EE system was set up and tested over 2 years ago, I’m uncertain what the issue is or how to troubleshoot the problem. |
Have any settings been changed in your Authorize.net account? It sounds like there’s an invalid URL set in the relay response or receipt link settings set in your Authorize.net account. One newer option for Authorize.net payments that you might want to use instead is the Authorize.net Accept gateway. That’s what Authorize.net recommends to use instead of their older SIM gateway. You can download the Accept gateway from your account page, and follow this guide to get it set up: |

If you use the Accept gateway you won’t need to get the SIM gateway to work. Are you able to log into your Authorize.net account? |

That’s good. You can log into that account and check the settings there to make sure there isn’t anything set for Relay Response URL. EE will try to send a dynamic URL for the SIM gateway. The other important thing to do in this case is contact your host (WPEngine) and ask them if they can look into why there’s a hardcoded URL for the WordPress URL and Site URL settings. One problem with the hardcoded URL is it’s set to http, but WPEngine uses https. They will likely need to make a few adjustments there so the site URL & WordPress URL are consistently https. |

Yes that doesn’t appear to be a valid URL. Please be sure to also contact WPEngine about the Site URL and WordPress settings for the site where you’re using Event Espresso. |

It would impact that site so if you’re still using Authorize.net for that site then you should check with whomever maintains that site before removing the URL. |

I can advise to get started with Authorize.net Accept. I understand that you’d prefer to get SIM working but that doesn’t appear to be possible due to issues related with Relay Response URLs. The Accept gateway doesn’t use those, and Authorize.net recommends using Authorize.net Accept anyway. In other words, if you were to contact Authnet for help about this issue, they’d probably ask you to switch to Authnet Accept. |

I do not think I have the technical expertise to do this install and then troubleshoot — and there WILL be trouble. |
I can install the Authnet Accept plugin for you (we still have the details from your account). The troubleshooting part is done since you’ve already contacted WPEngine about securing the site with https. |
|
Looks like someone has already installed and configured the Authnet Accept gateway on your site. |

Please be sure to deactivate the Authnet SIM gateway. If you have both gateways activated (Authnet SIM and Accept) it will be confusing and some will end up trying to use SIM. |
