Our current event slug is /events, but when going to that page is displays “Archive” at the top rather than the Table list (using shortcode [ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE]) on the actual page we created: http://www.tallahasseeseniorfoundation.org/events/

We are using the same shortcode on that page as used on:
http://www.tallahasseeseniorfoundation.org/l3x-events-listing/

We believe the use of the shortcode [ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE] is a better solution especially for users who are using the cart and clicking the “Return to Event List” button in the cart.

Is there a solution?

The solution is you use a filter hook to change the URL that links from the “Return to Event List” button. There’s some example code here:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/e51ac13a3d9fd345ad40#file-change_event_list_url-php

You can add the above to a functions plugin or into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file. See also:
