So we hired a company to set up our website, including Event Espresso, and they put a license key in the appropriate box in General Settings.  This license key may or may not be a single-site Business License owned by us – it may be part of a Developer License purchased by the company we hired.

1.  I created this support forum account to look up some things, without associating it with a site license key.  How do I get a site license key associated with my forum account?

2.  I’m not entirely sure what add-ons we have, but I do know that a support forum account must be associated with an add-on’s license key in order to view that add-on’s staff replies.  Does the site license key include access to all add-on support forum sections that site key includes?  In other words, if I can get my forum account associated with my site license key, will I then have access to the add-on support forums for all the add-ons my site has?

3.  Does a VIP membership include access to all sections of the support forum (including add-on-specific sections), or only the special VIP section(s)?

Hi Laura,

How are you today?

1) Either you need to have the developer who purchased your license key contact us for support OR they need to transfer a license to you from their account (we’d have to do that separately and manually by filling our the Sales/Account question form on our contact page; https://eventespresso.com/contact/). The third option is to just purchase a separate license for your own account….

2) Your access to the forums are associated with the license(s) and or add-on(s) you’ve purchased. For example, if you have the Business License then you will have access to all the add-ons in that package.

3) Just the VIP sections, but more importantly we give priority to VIP forum posts/questions.

Does that help?

Yes, that does help.

Looking at the contact page form, I’m not sure what I’d have to do.   Should I just send a message to Login/Account Problems, or Sales/Billing Question?  Or should I fill out the Update Request Form?  Or would the developer have to fill out the forms?

Thanks.

Send the Sales/Billing question form…

You’ll need to get some of the info from your developer if you can, or at least give us their name and email address so we can coordinate and validate this together.

1.  What information do you need to transfer a site license key?

2.  how long is a site license key good for?

Hi Laura,

We would need to developers details: email, username as a minimum. Ideally a copy of their purchase email, though I would assume Sales will contact the developer to confirm the transfer is ok, so we could get that info from them.

The licence is good for a year from purchase, so in respect to the transfer it would continue on, so if the developer purchased it 9 months ago, there would be 3 months remaining on the licence. It does not reset on transfer.

The plugin will continue to work if the licence lapses, however you will not be entitled to premium support or updates (and we update often to add new features, fixes etc).
