Looks like my developer activated the support key on his development server. How do I move it to mine? I see a request reset on the key – but I don’t want what is already working on my active server to stop working. What’s the process here?

Hi Joel,

The license key has no effect on how EE functions however to prevent both the development site and your production site from showing a notice that the key is used on multiple domains you will need to have your developer remove the license key from his install.

I can reset you key now if you’d like?

You would then need to go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Remove the key from the field and save the settings, then replace the key and save the settings once more.

That will re-assign the license key to your current domain.

Does this create a different key? And where in the interface would I set the new key?

To clarify my question – I don’t see a General Settings – I have four tabs under Event Espresso – Overview Categories Templates and Default Settings

No it just removes the association between your key and the current domain.

Are you using WP MultiSite or single site?

Go to your plugins list, what is the current version number of EE you have installed listed there?

This is single site. Version 4.8.7.p
I’m loathe to upgrade at the moment as this site hosts some events that are gearing up right now and I don’t want to risk anything going wrong.

Hi – What’s the next step? Should we proceed with removing the key? Where are these General Settings – I can’t see a way to attach a screen shot here….

Are you not looking to update Event Espresso? If not then the above will not fix anything, the license key used for automatic updates and provides support for the domain its assigned to, it does not effect how EE functions in any other way.

I can see you’ve opened a support token request detailing further issues and have replied through that, we can continue troubleshooting there.
