Having some issues with this plugin. Has been working fine previously but there have been no events recently so this could be due to an update, not sure. Anyway when user enters all of their details in to submit their entry the btn_event_form_submit button just reloads the same page so they user has to re enter their details again. The Event Espresso event in admin registered the users interest and lists them but doesn’t show that they have paid for obvious reasons. Very frustrating as the big launch was on 1st of November and no one can register. The domain in question is : http://www.thefivevalleys.co.uk and you can register here: http://www.thefivevalleys.co.uk/event-registration/ I am not sure if it is related but my license doesn’t allow me to update the plugin as the license key is registered against the development domain which is no longer in use. Now that the website has been live i have had the same issue of not being able to register. Any help would be appreciated. Dan |

Hi Dan, The first thing I would do is log in via FTP or control panel and temporarily rename the wp-content/uploads/espresso/TEMPLATES folder. This folder has some template files in that you have possibly modified. By renaming the folder you will let EE use the default templates files. What has most likely happened is that these templates have changed with an update and because you are effectively using old ones the plugin doesn’t like it. If that resolves the issue you will then need to compare the old templates to the new ones and port any modifications across. If renaming the templates folder does not resolve the issue, please leave it renamed and advise us immediately. Regarding the licence key it was attached to the correct site ( http://www.thefivevalleys.co.uk ), but I’ve reset it, you should get an email. |

Hi Dean, Thank you for your reply. Earlier today the url you had for the license was an incorrect one and I wasn’t able to update the plugin but it was changed before you replied to me so maybe when you checked you saw it was the new domain. I have renamed the folder as you suggested anyway to see if anything will work but as the plugin had not been updated since installing it due to the license issue this made no difference, I still get them same error where the submit button just reloads the same page. The only difference now is the submit button has ‘Submit’ text covered over my graphic as you can see here: http://www.thefivevalleys.co.uk/event-registration/ Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It worked perfectly running up to this years event which was the end of August and since then there has been no events but this latest one went live at the start of this month and now no one can register. Thanks in advance. Dan |
Hi Dan, Can you tell me what shortcode is currently in use within that page please? I’m guessing [SINGLEEVENT]? |

Hey yes, I am using this: [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”2015-five-valleys-sportive-1-543f9395e41c7″] |
Hi, The event-registration page (example.com/event-registration/) uses a shortcode that is required: http://cl.ly/image/2D1r3U2C0t1Q Could you relocate that shortcode to another page and restore the shortcode for the event-registration page? — |

Hi That image link doesn’t work. Can you resent please. Dan |
Hi Dan, The link above should show this – http://take.ms/YMaE9 The reason this is not working is because you have swapped the required [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode for [SINGLEEVENT]. [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] handles all of your events, any event you place on the site, all links back to the page containing [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] which dynamically displays the correct event. Event Espresso still thinks that shortcode is on the event-registration page (due to the settings in the picture) so when you click the link it is trying to load that page. You have 2 options to fix this. 1) Edit the event-registration page, remove the [SINGLEEVENT] shortcode and restore [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]. Then create a new page, place your [SINGLEEVENT] shortcode within that page and then direct all your users to that new page to register. That new page will display the same information you see now, but when the users fill the information in, they will be directed to event-registration to finish the registration. (The above would be the recommended option but depends if you have linked directly to the event-registration page in emails etc) 2) Leave the event-registration page as but create another page with [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] within it. This can be hidden from nav menus etc but must be published and publicly available. Then go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. Page Settings. You’ll see something like – http://take.ms/YMaE9 Within the ‘Main Registration Page’ dropdown, select the new page you just created (the one with [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] in) and save the settings. The event-registration page is then not considered the main page by Event Espresso, the new page you just created (and selected) is, so all events will link back to this new page. Does that make sense? |

Thank you kind sir! I went with option 1 and hey presto it worked. Thanks and sorry for wasting your time. Dan |
You are most welcome Dan 🙂 I’ll mark this thread resolved, if you have any other questions/issues feel free to open up another. |
