I posted a support request in November 2020 (see link below), and it was never marked as resolved and is now closed to comments. We are still having issues on mobile devices when a user clicks on a country. It should only show the states in that country but instead shows all states regardless of country. It works properly on desktops. Because the US states are at the bottom of the list, and we sell in ten countries our customers stop registering because they choose not to continue to scroll through hundreds of states or they get confused why they’re not seeing US states. When will this be fixed? Until then can you allow users to places the US states at the top of the list?

Hi there,

By mobile devices are you referring to mainly iOS?

We released a ‘fix’ for states not being hidden when selecting a county on the registration form v4.10.13.p, see HERE.

I tested this on your site with Android and the states for the selected country are the ones that show up on the dropdown, so that fix is working. However, due to how iOS basically takes over the dropdowns to display them with an overlay we can’t control the styles applied in the same way we do with other devices.

Right now we don’t have a workaround for that as it’s non-standard and the hacks to work around what iOS is doing use invalid syntax to do so.

Until then can you allow users to places the US states at the top of the list?

We may be able to do this with some jQuery although it depends if iOS honours the change when done via jQuery, I’ll check into this.

I believe it’s iOS, but I will confirm. One solution would be to allow us to place a default country at the top of the country field and then to allow us to place the states for that default country at the top of the state field. Is that possible?
