Having activated staff manager and ticking the box for a member of staff to associate them with an event in event overview I still need to insert the shortcode for their details to appear on the event description.

Why is this the case, seems like double tagging to me.

Thanks

Hi,

This is because you may not want the staff details to appear in the event, instead you may want to use the staff shortcode on another page, in which case the plugin still needs to know if that staff member is associated with a particular event.

E.g. [ESPRESSO_STAFF event_id=”8″] will list all staff associated with that event.

OK, why not have a second checkbox – “do you want the staff associated and show details”?

Is there any reason why our shortcode shows the mobile number but not the email address?

Thanks

It’s certainly a good idea. I doubt it would get added to EE3, but I can but it into our feature request list for the staff/speaker component for EE4.

Not currently, it’s been earmarked as a possible feature request. I did set up a custom shortcode that allows it though, which can be added to a custom functions plugin (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/)

Thanks Dean, I’ll have a look at that and see if I can make it work – watch this space 🙂
