Hi!

I’m trying to figure out a way for a movie theatre to sell serial tickets using social coupons. There are a few problems:

I inderstand that as you’d buy multiple tickets at a time and use the voucher code you get all the tickets with a price of 0€. That shouldn’t be possible as it is important to be able to sell multiple tickets; is there a way to fix this?

In EE4 there’s not yet the Groupon codes addon? When would that possibly be coming?

As a customer uses a voucher code when buying a ticket it gives this 0 euros for the price in the report. My client would need the information of how much the code was worth in the serial ticket to be added in the report; that information is necessary to have as they make a report of a single movie. That could be done in Excel by finding and replacing the 0 euros with the actual price. But there are going to be several serial tickets with different prices; would there be a way to somehow have different categories for the voucher codes and have that information registered in the report?

The Social Coupon Add-on applies 100% discount to each ticket within a registration, to alter this behaviour would require some significant alterations to both the Add-on and to EE core.

Our policy, like that of many companies, is not to comment on future plans or work in progress.

How much the Social Coupon voucher was worth? Or the original price of the ticket they have no purchased? (if it were not now free)

Hi,

yes, the information is needed how much the Social Coupon voucher was worth. They need the information what each movie has sold as tickets. So I believe one way to manage this would be to have multiple voucher categories which doesn’t seem to be possible? Any other ideas?

It would be such a shame if we were not able to activate the ticket selling because of this issue.

Hi Kristiina,

I don’t think the social voucher add-on’s feature set would be a good match for this use case. Maybe you can explain the type of discounts you’re looking to offer so we can understand and possibly work some ideas into the next generation of promotional features. In the meantime, the Volume discounts add-on may work better if you’re trying to discount a group of tickets. For example, here’s a tutorial that shows how to discount season tickets:
