I have my WP email set to the client as well as the EE4 primary contact email set to the client, but every registration notification was going to my email address.

After looking around the forum I found this post which explains that by default the event admin email is the email of the user who created the events. This explains why I’m getting the emails and I understand this.

I’m wondering now if someone can let me know the cleanest way to switch all these notification emails to my client’s email? I can click in the message templates and currently the To*: field is blank. I can add “[CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]” to this but I’m guessing it will still go to me, correct?

Rather than updating every single individual template or each event (there is over 100 events on the site), I’d like to know the cleanest way to change this going forward so that only my client is receiving these notifications. It looks like if I add “[CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]” to the “To*:” field, the email will still go to the event author as well.

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

It should just work to go to Event Espresso > General Settings and change the email address in the Primary Contact Email field.

Does that help?

Thanks Josh, I did this. It is currently set to my client’s email, but all registration notifications still come to me as I’m the event author. So I could change the author for everyone, but that’s kind of a pain and also I login a lot and do maintenance for the client. So changing my email to their registration email doesn’t seem like the best solution. It seems like I should be able to keep my user’s email as my own but just change all the event notifications. That’s what I’m looking to do. Sorry if that’s confusing, thanks again for any help!

Hi there,

Have you created custom templates for each individual event?

If not this can be done by just editing the default templates using the details from that post.

The messages within Event Espresso -> Messages (Default Message templates tab)

Are the templates used for all events unless you have created a custom template for each event, then assigned that template to the event. If not you’ll only need to edit those templates listed in the section above.

Using [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] or [CO_EMAIL] within the TO field will only send the message to the email address set within Event Espresso -> General Settings, not the event author.
