My Event Says Sold Out but it’s not. This has happened several times. My immediate fix is to add more for the QTY and update but it’s still not “True” so I need to figure out why this is happening time to time. I have a few screen shots to show you but I’m unsure how to post them. |
Hi Dora, May I ask which version of Event Espresso is running on your website? Also, can you post the actual sold ticket numbers and the available ticket quantity? There is a ticket reservation system in the later versions of Event Espresso where a started registration will reserve tickets, but if the reservation doesn’t complete (or pay) within a a few hours, the tickets will be released back into the inventory. So that’s something to be aware of. |

Hi Jake, The EE version I’m running is 4.9.25.p. So you’re saying that if the reservation is not complete it keeps the tickets in a “hold” and later releases them back, which did happen. However, that is a problem because sometimes there are multiple people trying to reserve. Is there a setting that releases the reservations sooner that I might have missed? |
Hi there, There is no setting for this but the value can be changed using a custom function, something like this: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/b6e20b03c57efe693bd86ebcf1b00ce9 Sets the value to 15 minutes. You can add that to a Custom Functions Plugin within your site. However note that changing the sessions lifetime applies to all registrations, so if you use 15mins registrations must be complete within 15mins to work correctly. |

I am having the same problem. It looks like non-confirmed registrations are being counted towards the total places available. This happened a while back. Never resolved, but new events created after a certain point were ok. Now it seems its prolific. |

The non-confirmed registrations are only counted for a brief amount of time, then those tickets are released back into the inventory. This prevents overselling events. |
