Should I wait for Event espresso 4?

Hello,

Very soon I’ll be working on my new site, most of the functions of the site will be based on Event espresso and will require some custom programming, my question is do you have a release date (or a range) for Event espresso 4.

I don’t want to finish my custom coding then redo it again when Event espresso 4 is released and I also don’t want to keep waiting if it will take sometime, what do you advise?

Hi,

The release date for 4.0 is difficult to say. We are wanting to get the first public Beta out asap, but as it has been pushed back so many times already we are cautious about giving an exact timescale.

4.0 will be released as a “lite” version, so if you are relying on any of the add on plugins then I would advise to perhaps use 3.1.X as initially there will be no add on support for 4.0 and 4.0 and 3.1.X are not compatible.
