Hi Event Expresso.
We purchased your programme 1 year ago. It has been fantastic for the purpose of booking and providing Professional Development for Teachers at our School. However at our recent Conference it could not handle the huge volume of traffic log ins. And it crashed. Since then there have been minor glitches as well. Such as emails of confirmation not being sent out.
Should we have bought another site licence?
Can we increase the power of our booking site?
We are running WordPress 3.9.1.
Our address is http://joondaluplearningcommunity.net
We have event espresso Version 3.1.29.1.P
We have event calendar Version 2.0.4
We have Event Espresso – Multi Event Registration Version 1.0.4
I really want to improve our site. Can you please help me to do this!!
Cheers David

Hi,

Should we have bought another site licence?

While not strictly necessary we do recommend stating up to date. There have been numerous bug fixes, tweaks and feature enhancements since your version.

Please take a look at the changelog for more information on what has been changed (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/#3.1.29.1 scroll up, as you can see you version is halfway down the page).

Can we increase the power of our booking site?

You can yes, but you would need to refer to your current host (or a new host) in respect to that. Please see our requirements page as we do not recommend things like IIS servers (Windows) – https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

Hi Dean,
Thanks replying so soon.
1. If I press all the updates in the Event Espresso will I lose all the information and bookings for current events?
2. If I press all the updates will that solve the problem of lots of people trying to regester at the same time and the system not coping? 1 person is all ok but 2,3,4…. bang it’s dead!!
3. There are many pop ups behind the site which states “There is an automatic update for Event Espresso available but your Site License Key is invalid.” What does this mean?
Cheers David

Hi David,

The version that you are running is from 2012:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/#3.1.29.1

We recommend keeping your software up to date and you will need a current support license to update to the current software.

A active support license key will also fix that update notice that is appearing in your WordPress admin.

You should backup your WordPress before making any changes:
