Hi,

I would like to know if the following things are possible and with which license type.
– Say I have a 10-week recurring class, meets Thursdays at 5:00pm. Can I have 2 payment options on the event registration page as follows:
a. buy 10-class package upfront at $200 (comes to $20/class).
or
b. buy a $25 walk-up (as in: customer decides he wants one “ticket” for one class only and not buy upfront package. This would cost $25/class. Then 4 weeks later he wants in on the 5th class out of the 10-class session, so he pays another $25, and so on.)
– is there a quick way to check students in, or take attendance (maybe mobile app)?
– is there a quick way (mobile app or web) to add a walk-up student to a class (as in, a student that walks on the premises without first visiting or knowing about the website registration)?
– can the word “ticket” be replaced in variables somewhere?

Hi Daj,

How are you today? You have a couple options.

With EE3
With Event Espresso 3 you can use the Multiple Event Registration addon (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/) to allow people to register for multiple events (separate events on separate dates/times).

With the Multiple Event Registration addon (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/) you can configure individual shortcodes to add a series of events to the cart at one time.

The shortcode to add a series of events to the cart in one step looks like this:

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19″ direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]

Each number in the event_id parameter is the event id for that event (not to be confused with the “Unique Event Identifier”). The event id can be found on the Event Overview page in your dashboard.

The individuals who want to attend one event can purchase a single ticket from one of the datetimes.

You can also use the mobile apps to check-in people at the door.

If you want to register people at the door you can add them manually from the WordPress admin.

With EE4

You can configure one event (big advantage over EE3) and then configure tickets that can attend multiple dates AND you can configure tickets that can only attend single datetimes. Far more simple than EE3.

With EE4 you can use the check-in feature to record whether someone attends.

You can also manually register someone into a class form the WordPress dashboard.

Overall I’d highly recommend using EE4.

One more question, to which I think the answer is, yes.

Can a parent do the registration process, but actually register his daughter or son, or both siblings?

Sure.

A parent can register children and not include themselves. The person making the payment can be different than the registrants. Does that help?

Me again.

So let me see if I get this right. Please let me know if I am going about this the most efficient way.

For a class that meets 5 Tuesdays 5-6pm starting this coming Tuesday I would need to:
– create 5 “Datetimes,” one for each Tuesday?
– create a $25 ticket named “Walk-up” that allows entry to ONE of any of the 5 tuesdays (#Datetimes = 1).
– create a $100 ticket named “5-class discount bundle” that allows entry to ANY and ALL of the 5 tuesdays (#Datetimes = 5)

I am using a demoee.org account.

I can allow buying one walk-up ticket usable for ONE of any of the 5 dates by using “# Datetimes” of 1, correct? Like so:

Using the same ticket setup as above, if one buys two walk-up tickets, he can use them on any two of the 5 class dates, correct?

Also, on the front end where customer shops, is it possible not to show the number of tickets already sold?

That’s correct, the ticket in your image has 1 datetime use, but it can be applied to any of the 5 datetimes you have selected.

Currently it will be a manually process for you to check this, as there is no ticketing add on for EE4.

Correct, but see previous answer.

At this time, it isn’t possible, but we have had a few requests regarding that so it may be possible or easier in the future.

This sounds great. How do I achieve that? I poked around in the demo but couldn’t figure it out.

The page in the registration process will let anyone pay for the tickets. They enter their credit card number or pay with paypal, etc. and it doesn’t have to be one of the attendees.
