So we are trying to run all of our event bookings through our new website, and I’m considering purchasing Event Espresso. Just one big question.

Our primary fundraising events are golf tournaments- which means we sell foursomes. For these, 1 ticket covers 4 attendees. Is it possible to create a separate booking form for a ticket like this where the registering party can enter the guest information for all 4? The flip side is… we don’t want it to be mandatory to enter all 4 at the time of booking… we’d like people to be able to log back in at a later date to fill in the other guest info if they don’t have it all at the time they book. Is this possible?

Any answers would be very helpful, thanks!

Hi Mike,

You’d want to just create a long registration form to request the information for all four participants, but don’t require the questions to be answered (in case they don’t have people to register at the time).

There is a link in the confirmation email where the primary attendee can edit their registration questions and add the other people at a later time.

Will that work?

Hi Garth.

Yes, that sounds like exactly what we want. So we can create a separate registration form for each ticket? For example, I can have one form for a “Golf Foursome” that has X questions for 4 golfers, then one form for a “Golf Individual” that has X questions for 1 golfer? Can I then do a registration form for let’s say “Dinner Only” package that has different questions than the other two? Just want to make sure I understand correctly. Thanks!

Hi Mike,

In general, you can only have one registration form active per event at one time. The registration forms are not dependent on the type of ticket they select.

What I was suggesting is that you just build the registration form to be long enough that it can accommodate all needs. But I think it would be best to setup an “event” that is specific to the types ticket you need. Each event could have its own registration form. One event for 4-person teams, 1 event for the single-person registration, and one for the tickets.

You can use the Multiple Event Registration addon (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/) as a way to let people add multiple things to their cart and checkout. With the Multi Event Registration add-on people will fill out each form during one checkout, but the forms will be unique to that event.

You can control all types of questions per event with the questions and question groups controls.

Does that make sense?
