Send related messages

What does this section in the Registration status mean?
“Send related messages yes/no If set to Yes, then the related messages will be sent to the registrant”

Mine is set to no by default, but I think my registrants are getting all of their messages. So what’s it for?

Hi Fran,

That option relates to the current status change you are making (if any).

If so is basically asking if you want to send the messages for a status change you might be making. As an admin, you have the option to set the Registration Status to whatever you want, EE does so automatically based on the users actions (plus your event set up) but you can override that. For example in my screenshot that registration is pending payment becuase the transaction is unpaid, but I may want to change that to Approved AND trigger the Registration Approved message when doing so, which I can do like so:

We have a few ‘Send Related Messages’ so they all do something slightly different depending on the context, adding a payment sends a payment message. If the registration status changed when adding the payment it also triggers a registration message (which one depends on the setup) etc. You may or may not want to trigger the messages related to your change in the admin, so we give you the choice when doing so.
