Same Event Repeating in WordPress Search Results

We have a situation where when you use the primary WordPress search function, a repeating event shows up multiple times in the results, with all the events listed on the same date – the original posting date of the event. Also, when the preview of the event is listed, the “Click Here” at the end of the excerpt is not actually a link, it is only text.
