According to Sage Pay (on their website) it says you can use PayPal, however using the Sage Pay plugin, I don’t see how a user can select that as an option. Our accounting is with Sage Pay so I’d like to avoid using PayPal Standard in the check out process. Ideas?

Hi Michael,
Our Sage Pay add-on allows you to accept payments via major credit cards. It does not support PayPal at this time and I do see that once of our images on the product page shows the PayPal logo so that may be confusing. We’ll get that fixed shortly.
With that mentioned, our newest payment gateway Braintree allows you to accept major credit cards and accept PayPal from the same payment gateway:

Braintree is also offering a promotion where they will cover transaction fees for credit and debit card transactions until you have processed over 50K. This is currently available to members in the European union so its something to consider.
You have an everything support license for Event Espresso 4 so Braintree is already on your account.

Thanks for the reply, we downloaded the Braintree plugin and activated to test it out, but we don’t have a Braintree account just yet. We are looking for a solution that will allow credit card and/or PayPal. The PayPal here still appears to be asking for a card number of some kind under the PayPal payment options. We are looking for the PayPay payment using just Paypal username and passowrd within our page rather than being directed out to PayPal website. Any ideas?

Hi Michael,
The Braintree checkout is similar to what you have described. A registrant/attendee will be allowed to pay with a credit card or they could click the PayPal button, login, and then pay via PayPal.
This is different than the PayPal Standard payment option in that they will not be transferred to PayPal.com and then returned to your site. The process for cards and PayPal payments will take place on the registration checkout page.

This option does NOT appear with my test site, is it because I don’t have the Braintree merchant ID and keys installed?

If you do not have any credentials setup, then its not going to work as expected.
