It’s pretty apparent that the server time is about 5 hours ahead of us, which would be like in the UK somewhere. Their registration sheets prove this, as they show ticket sales for the day AFTER we stop ticket sales on the website at 11:59EST.
On Friday the 11th for example, the registration excel shows tickets for food trucks sold up to 5am on the 12th.
Can we change this somehow to be EST?
It should be said that our wp-admin settings/general time zone is set to New York.

I had this same issue last week on a site, but my php.ini (so database) timezone was set to GMT. WP user creation times followed the WP timezone (CST), but EE registration/contact creation times followed the PHP settings (GMT). Fixing the setting in php.ini can’t fix the existing registrations, but new ones are now correct for me. Am I correct in thinking that it pulls from the PHP timezone instead of the WP one? Why?

Hi there,
Wordpress (and therefor Event Espresso) expect all times to be in GMT+0 ragardless of your server settings. WP explicitly sets all datetimes to GMT and that it what all plugins should use to follow guidelines. For example:
The most common cause of incorrect times is caused by plugins (or the theme) using date_default_timezone_set() to change the timezone to something else.

Run a test registration and confirm the dates/times are incorrect.
Then if you disable all plugins other than Event Espresso and re-run a new test registration, do the dates/times show correctly on that registration?
