When you go to the registration form in the personal information in the input it has someone’s first name, last name and e-mail in that section. Every time I go into it the name changes. I duplicated First name and put it in the personal information and the name did not appear, however, the form is locked so I can’t remove the original first name etc.

Hi Sara,

It sounds like you are logged into the site and using the WP User Integration add-on, one of the features of that add-on is to auto-fill the Personal Information section with the details save on your user account AND also sync up any changes you make to the registration for with your user account.

So first, can you check if you have the WP User integration add-on activated on your site, you can find that within Dashboard -> Plugins, look for ‘Event Espresso – WP Users’.

If you do have that active, but you don’t want the above functionality, may I ask why what you are currently using that add-on for?

I actually thought it was a plugin as well and checked all of them. I also don’t have that one. I did update the event expresso plug ins, would this have something to do with it? Right now I just have event espresso, calendar, events table view, promotions and stripe gateway on.

Hmm, well that’s odd, the WP Users add-on is the only one of our add-ons that would autofill the attendee details (without customizations).

When you say you checked all of them, did you test with all non-EE plugins de-activated? So you’re running only EE and its add-ons at that time?

That is how you would rule out a plugin conflict and we have some details on the steps to take here:

I don’t think so, for the reason above.

Right now I just have event espresso, calendar, events table view, promotions and stripe gateway on.

Have you had any customizations done by a developer?

Do you have any caching activated on the site? It may not be a plugin, your host may have server side caching and if so you’ll need that disabling on the EE pages, we have some info on that here:

I deactivated all plug ins. The weird thing is when I duplicate first name or last name it will not autofill. I created a duplicate of last name and deleted the old one and which is not autofill and put it in the form. I can not replace the duplicate first name or e-mail in the personal information because it is locked.

I also just noticed now when someone signs up the last name doesn’t show up (since I used the duplicate) in the fields on the back end. The person signing up also receives an e-mail with those auto names in them which is confusing. I know you can not mess around with the personal information, fname, lname and e-mail but this is the only section that is autofilled with fake names. Is there something I can do on the backend? Or can you delete and re add those fields? It doesn’t happen on any other forms it’s only in the personal information section.

Now it’s really messed up, I was playing around with it and now the personal information will not even appear. I tried resetting the whole thing and starting fresh and cutting my losses on losing the data but I can not even reset it without it timing out. So, now I’m trying to figure out what to do. Remove everything and uploaded it all or still try to figure out how to solve the form issue (personal information) and get that back to working.

Hi Sara,

Do you have a test event I can run some registrations on to view this?

You shouldn’t need to reset EE and I think its unlikely to fix the problem as I don’t think its EE adding the values.

What did you do to prevent the personal information question group from showing?

Have you edited EE’s files at all?
