Since testing the ticketing system, the “registration approved” and “ticket notice” messages now pop up on every page. Even if I’m logged out of the site. I’ve tried it on two different computers, so I assume it’s happening to every visitor. How do I turn this pop up off? Thanks. |
Hi Joshua, I’m sorry but I am unsure of exactly which message you are referring to. Can you some further information or a link we can view this on please? |

Try this link: http://www.mphstage.org/participate/ You should see a green and white pop up message appear. |
Do you have any caching plugins installed on the site or use server side caching within your hosting package? (For example GoDaddy Managed WordPress hosting has server side caching enabled by default) |
Searched my plugins and I do not. I’m hosted on Dreamhost. |
DreamHost use Varnish for server side caching, can you try clearing the cache from within your Dashboard, there should be a ‘Purge Varnish Cache’ button. For more information check here: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/DreamPress#Caching If clearing the cache removes those notices you may need to issue a ticket with Dreamhost support to have them exclude the EE critical pages from Varnish caching. We have a guide which pages need to be excluded here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ |

I did the Purge Varnish Cache and the pop ups are still appearing on nearly every page except the Homepage. |
Hi Joshua, Can you find out the version number of the Ticketing add-on you are testing and let us know which version it is? |
Yeah, it’s Version 1.0.1.p |
If you deactivate the ticketing add-on, does the pop up go away? |
Nope. I deactivated the plugin and the messages still pop up. |
Any other suggestions? It’s really impacting the user experience. Not sure what to do. |
Hi Joshua, If you deactivate the main Event Espresso plugin (EE4), does the pop up go away? |
One more thing to check while EE is deactivated: If the messages do not display in a pop up, they still might be in the HTML source, so please check there as well while EE is deactivated. |
If I deactivate the main plugin, will it affect my events that are live right now? I don’t want to break anything else. 🙂 |
Hi there, It will affect your events in that while the plugin is deactivated, no one will be able to view event information or register for the events while the plugin is deactivated. The data for the events will not be affected. When you reactivate the plugin, events will be viewable and can be registered for again. |
Ok, I deactivated the plugin and the pop ups stopped. I activated the plugin and the the pop ups reappeared. |
Can you give me some guidance as to how and what to look for in the html source? |
Yes, your web browser has a view source mode. If you use Chrome or Firefox, you input the following into your address bar:
This is what you’ll be looking for: |
Ok, when the plugin is deactivated, the code is NOT on that page. When it’s activated, it is. |
Thanks for checking. This could be the option that handles displaying notices isn’t resetting. If it’s possible, can you send FTP credentials via the secure form on this page so we can investigate further? |
