WP 4.1. After update to the current version of 4.6 that is available in WP, when you pick a ticket and hit Register Now button it goes to a blank page. When it asked me to bring my data over form 4.4 I said no, but all my data and table seem to be there. (it is all test data I want to get rid of). Site is http://www.mac2business.org Thanks |
Hi Mary, that looks like a fatal error. Could you temporarily enable WP debugging through your wp-config.php file with this macro? https://gist.github.com/848801a1173be464fbe7 It should be added towards the middle. Then try another registration and you should see some messaging. Copy and paste it to this support post. Then turn WP debugging off by setting true in the first line to false. Thanks — |

I enabled the debugging and I am not getting any errors. I also have firebug on my browser and not seeing anything on the console. I had listed this error when I tried to use 4.4 setup and data. Since it was only test, I deleted that data and started over with a new event. I am wondering if I might have gotten a bad install. I am willing to delete the install and redo it. FYI, I did take backups for 4.4(db export) before I started. |
Hi Mary, was this an one click upgrade through the WP-admin (WP dashboard) or was the site manually upgrading via SFTP or FTP? Thanks — |

It was one click install through WP. |
Hi Mary, What kind of hosting are you using? |

How come my comments are deleted from here ? I replied to this and my comments are gone this system is not working for me either. |
Hi there,
We tend to keep each individual users issues in a separate post. This helps keep troubleshooting each site much simpler as each user can run through their own steps. Your new thread is available here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/split-register-now-button-now-working-4-6-update/ |

I am on Dreampress (Dreamhost). |
Hey there, Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so we can take a closer look at this issue? Please share that temporary login through the secure link below: To prevent delays in troubleshooting, be sure to double check your information on the form before submitting. The submit button for the form appears at the end of the form. Again, please ensure that the temporary login works. Thank you. — |

Hi Mary, This is being caused by the data not being deleted during the migration.
I have reproduced this and found it to be the cause of the problem. To fix you need to reset Event Espresso (this will remove all EE data from your database so be need all of the settings within EE re-input) You can do this using Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> Reset/Delete Data -> Permanently Delete All Event Espresso Data. (Create a database backup before doing so just to be safe) |

Why would I have to delete all my data to migrate? But since I was having a problem I DID delete all the data and started over. |
You normally do not, but as you mentioned above, you chose not to migrate the data and to delete it on the migration steps. The data then should have been remove and Event Espresso setup automatically, but this is not happening and so the event data that is currently there is not compatible with 4.6.X I have a ticket for the developers to investigate this. Did you follow the steps I pointed out above to delete the data or deleted it from within the admin tables? 4.6.X changes the config from 4.4 and so either the migration script must set this up, or the current config removed and re-created (which is what the ‘Perm Delete’ option above does) |

Just to be more clear. I updated EE and choose not to migrate the data but of course the data was still there as you said because it is not being deleted properly. I then used Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> Reset/Delete Data -> Permanently Delete All Event Espresso Data to delete all the data. I then created the data that is there now but I still had the same problem. I am willing to delete all the data again and try again |
Hi, the reset option will remove everything and it sounds like that was run earlier. Could you try those steps again: Event Espresso –> Maintenance –> Reset/Delete Data -> Permanently Delete All Event Espresso Data. Then reactivate Event Espresso and go to Messages –> Settings and Toggle it to On. If that doesn’t help, then please share a temporary login so we can take a look: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ — |

I deleted all the data and started over and I was able to get things working. Having other issues but will open another topic. |
Thank you for letting us know, Mary. I’ll mark this thread resolved. |
