Hello, Maybe you can help me with this error. I received it when I tried updating to the new version. (I renamed the file event-espresso-core-reg to get the site working.) Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘EE_Error’ with message ‘An attempt to access and/or write to a file on the server could not be completed due to a lack of sufficient credentials.’ in /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/core/helpers/EEH_File.helper.php:39 Stack trace: #0 /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/core/helpers/EEH_File.helper.php(278): EEH_File::_get_wp_filesystem() #1 /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/core/EE_Load_Textdomain.core.php(43): EEH_File::exists(‘/usr/www/users/…’) #2 /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/core/EE_System.core.php(695): EE_Load_Textdomain::load_textdomain() #3 [internal function]: EE_System->load_core_configuration(”) #4 /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-includes/plugin.php(505): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #5 /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-setti in /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/core/helpers/EEH_File.helper.php on line 39 |
Hi Trevor, Was this using the auto updates? It looks like there is a permissions issue on the server. Event Espresso does not require extra permissions as far as I am aware although I requested some feedback from our developers to double check. In the meantime I suggest manually updating your site. We have a guide posted here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually In a nutshell, delete the current version of Event Espresso 4. Download the latest version from Your Account Page and upload that through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin. Be sure to create a full site backup before updating (its good practive to dothis for all updates included plugin and theme updates) |

September 22, 2014 at 10:46 am Hi Trevor, I’d like to investigate this issue further and see what the cause may be. Would it be possible for us to take a look at the site and see if we can identify what is causing this? If so please send login details using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Please note FTP details would be appreciated in this instance so we can check the file paths in use. |

Hello, I followed the steps of just deleteing the plugin and uploading the file. This allowed me to activate the plugin and continue to the migrate data option. It failed with a different error code. I had to change the name of the folder (event-espresso-core-reg1) to display the site again. The error now given is: “Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/ee4-events-calendar/EE_Calendar.php on line 195” |

I’m having this too. |
Hi Trevor, Currently the site has EE4.2.4 installed. Can you delete this version, upload the latest version of EE4 from your account page (EE4.4.2 currently) and retry please. |
