Hello,

Maybe you can help me with this error. I received it when I tried updating to the new version. (I renamed the file event-espresso-core-reg to get the site working.)

Hi Trevor,

Was this using the auto updates?

It looks like there is a permissions issue on the server. Event Espresso does not require extra permissions as far as I am aware although I requested some feedback from our developers to double check.

In the meantime I suggest manually updating your site. We have a guide posted here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually

In a nutshell, delete the current version of Event Espresso 4.

Download the latest version from Your Account Page and upload that through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin.

Be sure to create a full site backup before updating (its good practive to dothis for all updates included plugin and theme updates)

Hi Trevor,

I’d like to investigate this issue further and see what the cause may be.

Would it be possible for us to take a look at the site and see if we can identify what is causing this? If so please send login details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Please note FTP details would be appreciated in this instance so we can check the file paths in use.

Hello,

I followed the steps of just deleteing the plugin and uploading the file. This allowed me to activate the plugin and continue to the migrate data option. It failed with a different error code. I had to change the name of the folder (event-espresso-core-reg1) to display the site again.

The error now given is:

“Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in /usr/www/users/plato/restorationvillagefarm/wp-content/plugins/ee4-events-calendar/EE_Calendar.php on line 195”

Hi Trevor,

Currently the site has EE4.2.4 installed.

Can you delete this version, upload the latest version of EE4 from your account page (EE4.4.2 currently) and retry please.
