Read receipt or similar function on messages?

Hi – I’ve had a tough time with my recent event as many people didn’t get the registration confirmations etc. When they contacted me, I asked if the email was in their junk mail and usually it was.

This isn’t confined to EE4 – my MailChimp emails also don’t get to where they’re supposed to. Mostly government audience. Filters I suppose.

But with MailChimp, I can at least see if emails have been opened and perhaps send a reminder from my own email if I think they haven’t got an important email.

Can I get anything on EE messages to tell me if they’ve been opened? Or request a read receipt?

Hi there,

Not through EE itself, but you could use a transactional email service that has open tracking, we have some listed here:

Mandrill (made by MailChimp) for example has open tracking very similar to MailChimp itself.
