Hi
I’m trying to set up events for the first time. All is going well, but on the events teaser page that lists the short descriptions of events, the “button” that leads to the full event description says “register” instead of something like “read more” or “view details”. That doesn’t flow well for a potential registrant as they would hesitate to click on something that says “register” when they haven’t seen the entire event description….
Is there a simple solution to this?

Some additional notes to my support request:
I have selected “yes” on template settings for “display short descriptions in events listings”
I have used the “more tag” when creating the event description, and that is working in that it correctly just displays the “short description portion that is selected through it.
The link below short description on events listing page reads “register” and I would like it to say “read more” or something like that.
The page displaying events is [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]
I hope that helps. I have searched and searched the forums but with no success on this one.

Hello Jessica,
The Register link is hard coded into the plugin, however, there are a few ways to change it.
1) Reword it via the language files – here is a guide on how to do that https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/
2) Reword it using a function. If you understand a bit about PHP then you can use this function in your themes functions.php http://www.viper007bond.com/2011/07/13/changing-core-wordpress-strings/
