question on emailing event attendee's in EE 4.29

As Im sure your aware by now πŸ™‚ I have just upgraded my website from EE3 to EE4 and its been pretty smooth with only a few minor theme and transactions issues that have now been solved.

Again the styling on the new version looks great. It really looks like a very professional layout and is a much closer fit for how I pictured my ideal event management system to look in that the event description pages are separate from the event enrollment pages.

I am having a little bit of trouble coming to terms with the new messaging layout. One feature I just loved from EE3 was the ability to send out a group email to people that had already enrolled advising them of a last minute speaker change etc….

So..

Q1) How do you do send a new custom group email to attendees of a particular event. ( This was easily done in EE3 under the “email all enrollee’s button on the event overview page) I cant see where the option is to creat new email templates ?

I prefer to send event specific confirmation emails giving advice on best parking options and pre-arrival times but I am having a little bit of trouble seeing how this is done. Im guessing its done in the global/custom notifications settings but I am very finding this interface less than strait forward.

so…

Q2) If I am able to make a custom registration confirmation email template for each event. How do I select this email for a particular event

Hi Brent,

There is a newsletter or batch email option available in Event Espresso 4.3. This version is currently being tested internally and is available in our prerelease channel as a download:

Once it is running, you can select attendees/registrations from a specific event and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the batch email button. A window will appear where you can create a message and send to your attendees/registrants.

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like lots of good things coming with 4.3

Being able to generate a group email directly from the event page list was a good feature of EE3 and I hope its one the developers consider re-adding to EE4.

It could very well just be but my suspicion is that the new messaging layout of EE4 is very confusing and well require a lot of time wasted by your support staff in answering dumb questions from people like me.
